We are pleased to announce that Helix Ltd., the developer of Andar/360, has been acquired by Volaris Group, a subsidiary of Constellation Software, Inc., headquartered near Toronto, Ontario. Volaris is committed to strengthening and growing vertical market technology companies.

“As part of the Volaris family of companies, we can further invest in, and grow, our business,” said Réal Bédard, President of Helix Ltd. “We are now part of a larger network of like-minded organizations dedicated to delivering world-class solutions in very specific and focused industries. We can leverage this knowledge and expertise to further innovate and provide mission-critical solutions to meet the unique needs of our customers.”

UWITC is very excited about the opportunities that the sale of Helix to Constellation Software offers United Ways. Not only will the sale ensure that the Andar/360 product has the resources that are required for it to continue to thrive for years to come but it frees the employees at Helix from worrying about back office activities like HR, legal, and finance and allows them to focus on the development of the software that has become so critical to United Ways. Not only will we have the same team at Helix working on our behalf but we will have a huge multinational parent company backstopping them. Congratulations to the owners and employees at Helix!

Jay Hoffman, CEO of Gallery Systems, a company acquired by Volaris in 2012, explains, “Volaris does not sell companies. They buy successful companies and help them grow and be more successful by providing resources such as shared back office and best practices. Being part of the Volaris Group of companies has been a great experience for Gallery Systems and its clients.”

When asked what this means for Andar customers, Bédard stated, "In speaking with other companies acquired by Volaris, we heard that customers experienced only positive change. Furthermore, this acquisition will provide solid long-term succession planning to protect our customers’ investment with Andar."

As a result of this acquisition, we are also announcing the retirement of André Marcil, our CEO and co-founder. Réal Bédard will continue as President.

In addition to the Helix acquisition, Volaris acquired Access International, Inc., developer of Enterprise/CRM. Jim Shea, President of Access, said, “We are excited to be part of Volaris Group and look forward to collaborating with our new colleagues at Helix to build the next generation of solutions for the nonprofit community.”
