Are Your Emails Arriving at Their Final Destination?

It doesn't matter how compelling your email is, if your audience doesn't receive the email, it's a wasted effort. But, how do you ensure your email sends well, and what's the sending process like?

Think of the process as traditional snail mail. Andar/360 helps you create an email, stuff it in an envelope, and it addresses it for you, but it must be dropped off at a virtual "post office" or "courier." At this point, Andar/360 hands off your email to an email server called an SMTP server (Simple Mail Transport Protocol). The SMTP server provider you use is your decision. Andar Software offers the use of our SMTP server as well as DNS management, as a service. You can also pay another provider or opt to set up your SMTP server. It's essential to make sure that you have correctly configured the SMTP server and your DNS records.

What Are Hotfixes and Why Do We Do Them?

Different companies and development teams may have various definitions for a "hotfix." Here at Andar Software, a hotfix refers to a small portion of code that's been developed to solve a specific customer issue or a contained bug in the software for the current version of the product. Hotfixes are meant to be made quickly and be released just as fast to benefit the customers' needs.

On the other hand, a "service pack" is a large software update that includes product enhancements, as well as fixes to multiple bugs. For Andar/360, the service packs are released at the beginning of the year and mid-year.

32-bit Windows Support

Important Reminder: Andar Software will no longer support Windows 32-bit as of January 2020.

As Andar Software continues to grow and take advantage of new technology, we find it more challenging to support old technology. We're currently planning to upgrade Andar/360's internal engine which only supports 64-bit computers — and we'll be moving to this technology in January 2020. As a result, Andar/360 will only run on 64-bit computers beginning with version 2020.01. (Older versions of Andar/360 will continue to work on both 32-bit and 64-bit computers.)

As such, it's an excellent time for you to make an inventory of your computers. The “System” settings on your computers will hopefully show “System type: 64-bit Operating System.” You can also go to AndarSoftware.com/MyInfo to see if any 32-bit machines used Andar/360 in the last month. You'll only see an alert on this page if you have 32-bit machines.
